A name, if you want one.

Search a name to register at cost, transfer one you already own onto Pixcel, or skip it and use a temporary URL. Prefer to keep your current registrar? Add the name at checkout and point DNS when the box is up. Hosting and domains each work without the other. Step-by-step: domain docs and DNS.

Register

If the name is free, we buy it through Cloudflare Registrar at cost. First year at checkout.

Transfer

Already own it? Move the registration to Pixcel. Unlock it, point Cloudflare nameservers, paste the auth code. Usually 5–7 days. Cloudflare at cost (usually +1 year) plus $15.00 handling. How transfers work.

Keep your registrar

Still fine. Add the name as “I already own it” and CNAME www to sites.pixcel.solutions. Do not create an A record — that field wants an IP, and we do not give one out. Root name: forward it to www, or ALIAS to the same host. DNS docs.

Questions we get

Do I have to buy a domain?

No. Every plan includes a temporary URL so you can launch first. Add a name later if you want one.

I already own a name. Can I use it?

Yes. Transfer it to Pixcel (we become the registrar, at cost, usually +1 year), or keep your current registrar and point DNS when the box is up. Hosting and domains each work without the other.

How does a domain transfer work?

You pay Cloudflare at cost (usually +1 year) plus $15.00 Pixcel handling. After checkout we add the name to Cloudflare and email two nameservers. Unlock the domain at the old registrar, switch nameservers, then paste the authorization / EPP code in your account. Most transfers finish in 5–7 days. Names registered or moved in the last 60 days can be locked by ICANN. The full walkthrough is in Docs → Transfers.

Where do I manage DNS?

Account → Sites → DNS, if Pixcel holds the name (we registered it or you transferred it). Point this name at Pixcel sets the site records to our host. If you keep your registrar, change records there: CNAME www to sites.pixcel.solutions. Do not create an A record — that field wants an IP, and we do not give one out. For the root name, forward it to www. Record types and examples are in the DNS docs.

My registrar wants an IP for an A record.

That form is the wrong record type. sites.pixcel.solutions is a hostname, so it goes in a CNAME (www → sites.pixcel.solutions). If the root name only offers A, do not paste an IP. Use the registrar’s URL redirect / domain forwarding from the root to www, or ALIAS/ANAME if they offer it. Or transfer the name to Pixcel and we set DNS for you.

What backups are included?

30-day rolling copies, daily, on every plan, plus manual snapshots from your account whenever you want a known-good copy.

What is a vault?

A paid add-on that keeps rolling copies longer: 90 days or 1 year. Manual snapshots stay on every plan even without a vault.

Can I pay for more than one year?

Yes. Yearly plans are 10% off the monthly rate. Pick 1 to 5 years at checkout. 1–3 years renew at that length until you cancel. 4–5 years are prepaid and do not auto-renew.

Can I cancel hosting?

Monthly, or at the end of a yearly term. First term may be refunded within 7 days if we have not done custom setup. After that the current term is not prorated. See the Terms.

Thirty days for free. Longer if you pay. Manual whenever.

Every box keeps a rolling 30 days. Before a risky update, hit “Take a manual backup” in your account. Want a longer memory? Add a vault.
